What is Self Storage?

Self Storage facilities have a selection of different sized storage units and/or storage containers that you can hire. You can also easily switch to a smaller or larger room whilst in storage if you need to, subject to availability. You can store your goods or possessions from as little as a week or as long as you need. You can store almost anything unless it is perishable, live or flammable. You must not store hazardous, dangerous, illegal stolen or goods that are environmentally harmful. You can move your furniture and household items into the storage unit yourself or by means of a Furniture Removals company. Only you (the storer) have access and security of your storage unit.

How do I arrange self storage at SA Storageworx?

Contact us by telephone or email or use the storage estimator on our website to find out approximately how much storage space you will need. Let us know your storage requirements;

  • Date,
  • Unit size,
  • Access you require,
  • Short or long term storage.

We will check storage availability for you. Our storage units or storage containers can be reserved in advance by phone, e-mail or via our web site - Book a Unit. Ask as many other questions as you wish. If you are happy with the information you receive and the price, to make sure the size is available on the day you need it. You will be required to pay a deposit to hold the storage unit. Make an appointment with our storage consultant Please note that you will still have to visit SA Storageworx to sign the Storage Agreement before storing with us.

How quickly can I store my goods at SA Storageworx?

You can move in on the same day as you make your enquiry provided; There is enough time to unload your goods into storage, during office opening hours & We have the correct size unit to match your requirements we advise to try to book the unit as early as possible.

And you meet all requirements and conditions to be able to open a storage account.

What do I need to do to open a storage account?

Provide SA Storageworx with;

  • All relevant information to complete documentation
  • Storage Agreement is completed and signed by the storer.
  • Two forms of ID are required one of which must be a photo ID (passport or driving license) and a utility bill less than 3 months old.
  • Payment of the first invoice and next month’s storage is made prior to moving in
  • You supply a padlock to secure your storage. Key must be kept by you at all times.

Please note in order to protect your goods Removals Companies will not be allowed to unload at SA Storageworx until Storage Agreement is signed by the storer.

What is a Storage Agreement?

A’ Storage Agreement’ is an agreement between you (the storer) and the owner of the storage space (SA Storageworx). The agreement gives the storer the right to store goods in the space allocated by the owner, subject to ‘Terms and Conditions’. To hire storage space a needs to be signed by (the storer) before goods are moved into a storage unit. ‘Terms and Conditions’ are applicable. The storer is required to provide contact details for him/her and an alternative contact. You will need to supply two forms of ID, at least one being a photo ID.

How often can I access my storage?

The amount of access you have depends on the type of unit you have. Storage Units under the main roof of the storage warehouse has access Mon to Friday between 8am and 5pm. You can come and go as you please, during opening hours but must ensure that you have completed access by closing time. Not available on Public Holidays. Out of hours access can be arranged by appointment and prior approval. Storage containers have 24 hour access and available 7 days a week. The storer supplies or purchases their own padlock for the storage unit. Only you (the storer) have access and security of your storage unit.

SA Storageworx is SA owned and operated. Self storage at SA Storageworx is flexible, secure and hassle free. SA Storageworx has trained professional and helpful staff to ensure that you receive the best service and value. SA Storageworx offers storage solutions and a range of services for your home and business storage needs. Our ‘one stop shop’ approach means we are able to deal with any problems you might have and offer storage solutions for your needs. SA Storageworx shares an office with a removals company which is also SA owned and operated for over 20 years. Paul Adams Removals has experienced and professional staff undertaking all aspects of your removals and storage needs.

What kind of security does SA Storageworx have?

SA Storageworx takes security of your goods and possessions extremely seriously.

To protect your possessions we have;

  • State of the art ‘CCTV Surveillance’ that is monitored 24 hrs a day, 7 days a week.
  • ‘Alarm System’ that is monitored 24 hrs a day, 7 days a week.
  • Automatic Security Gate with Pin code Access only available to storage customers.
  • Customers have strictly controlled access to all areas within our storage facility.
  • The storage units and containers can only be accessed by you as you hold the keys.

How much does storage cost at SA Storageworx?

The cost of storage at SA Storageworx is dependent on the size of the storage unit you need and the kind of access you require. The rental charge is largely calculated according to the cubic meter capacity of the storage unit or storage container. Generally speaking a Removals Company will load your possessions into the smallest storage unit possible. Removalists use all of the space up to the ceiling, so trying to find something at a later date is difficult but this is to save you money. You may also wish to load your own storage unit so that you can save on removals costs. You can hire a truck from SA Storageworx or by your own means of transport.

We also offer other hire and purchase storage solutions;

  • Hire trolleys to assist moving goods into storage.
  • Personnel to assist unload into storage unit. Some notice is required.
  • Protective covers for furniture
  • Felt Pads to also protect furniture

Access also needs to be considered, do you want to leave a walkway through the storage to be able to get what you need. Placing important items last into your storage unit usually avoids this problem. If you’re a business you may want to leave a walkway through the storage and add shelving on the sides to be able to get merchandise or archive boxes. We can advise you on how to stack your goods and possessions to make maximum use of the space. The price of storage is based on the space you require and estimating the storage unit you need isn’t as simple and straightforward as it looks. Please give us a call to get the right price for the right space.

What is the minimum and maximum rental period?

The minimum rental period for storage is one week. You can store for as long as you want, there is no maximum rental period.

Are there any other storage costs?

Storage is paid in advance just like you would pay rent so two months’ rent is required on commencement date. Storage costs include GST.

  • Other Storage costs included in the Storage Agreement which are payable on date of commencement are; Administration, Cleaning and Pest Control Fee.
  • To save the environment we prefer to send invoices via email so if you require one posted out to you there is a small cost.
  • Any additional packing materials and padlocks are available for purchase at SA Storageworx.
  • Payment of Hire of any Removals Company for relocating your storage items is not included through SA Storageworx.
  • Removals assistance for loading/unloading storage units or storage containers is on a hire basis through Paul Adams Removals. Paul Adams will supply a separate account that will require payment on completion of services.
  • Further charges can also be added subject to conditions of agreement.

Do you offer any discounts?

Yes, we can offer discount to storage customers that pay their storage in advance. *conditions apply

When do I pay for storage?

On arrival at SA Storageworx before your goods are stored, one month’s payment is payable. Storage is due monthly on the anniversary date of your arrival and requires payment in advance. Invoices for storage will be sent via email or posted if preferred two weeks before an account is due.

How can I pay my storage account?

Payment method agreed upon. Storage is paid in advance on a monthly basis. SA Storageworx has a variety of ways to make payments:

  • Credit Card
  • Electronic Transfer
  • BPAY
  • Cheque
  • Cash
  • Direct Debit

Do I need Storage Insurance?

Yes, your goods must be insured whilst in storage as they are not insured whilst in storage. SA Storageworx can recommend an inexpensive plan. Speak to a consultant at SA Storageworx for more details. Insurance is not included in storage fees as some customers prefer to choose their own insurance or may have cover through their own home contents insurance policy.

How do I get my storage to you?

There are a number of ways you can bring your belongings to SA Storageworx. We recommend using a removals company as they have the expertise to get the job done. We highly recommend Paul Adams Removals to help you with your transportation, loading and unloading. Please ask us about their services. Alternatively, you may wish to move yourselves; We have a hire truck available to save some costs. Please ask us about this service. You may have your own trailer and wish to do a few trips or you may have to hire a SA Storageworx has ample car parking and large loading/unloading areas.

Can I transfer to another storage unit if I need less or more space?

If your storage situation changes, you can move to another size unit at any time. Let us know your new storage requirements and we can check availability of another storage unit in the facility. You can move your storage yourself or we can organise removalist to transfer your storage for you, but you will have to be there to open and close your storage unit.

Are trolleys and forklifts available for use?

Trolleys and forklifts are available for loading/unloading your storage into SA Storageworx units. Trolleys are available free of charge to our customers. Forklift hire is available and needs to be booked in advance. Inexpensive forklift rates are charged in 15 minute increments and are operated by our trained staff.

Do we offer business rates?

Businesses can store office furniture, archive boxes, equipment or merchandise at SA Storageworx. We have small and large storage units available for commercial use, which are available for short or long term. We offer fixed yearly rates for business customers that would like to store long term.

Can I reserve a storage unit?

To reserve a storage unit is easy just email your request and we will confirm availability. A storage consultant will get back to you as soon as possible. A confirmation of reservation will require a small deposit.

What happens if my plans are delayed?

If you have reserved a storage unit and your plans are delayed just give us a call and we will extend your reservation.

How do I terminate my Storage Agreement?

Fourteen days notice is required before vacating your storage space. A Storage Termination form is available and needs to reach the facility at least fourteen days ahead of scheduled departure. Click on Termination of Storage Agreement As storage fees are paid monthly in advance any unused storage will be refunded when you vacate your storage unit.
